Make Thinking of You Cards with Vicki

Hello Everyone,

I thought of so many other people I wanted to send a card to after I sent my Easter cards  last week, so I made “Thinking of You” cards. This is one way I can brighten someone during these trying times of social distancing.

In this video I will show you some of my art work and pressed floral work. I use my scraps to make these cards, I like to call them my Decorative Art Collection. I will show you how I use my Fiskars Ultra Shape Xpress and a few other techniques.

Stay Well & Happy Creating,

Vicki

“Make an Easter Card with Vicki”

Hello Everyone,

Easter is almost here. I have been busily making Easter cards. I was so happy to use my watercolor panels and my pressed floral print scraps for these cards.

I love this cross stamp I have and once I figured out my design there was no stopping me!! Did you ever feel like that in the craft room, like you were on a “roll”. I wanted to make several different colored cards and had so much fun!

Have a blessed Easter, stay well.

Keep hopeful and Happy Creating,

Vicki

“Let’s Paint an Orange in Watercolor”

Hello Everyone,

Painting food is so much fun. I’ve been eating an orange a day lately to get that Vitamin C. I thought before I ate the whole orange this would make a good painting!

This is a little more challenging painting as I wanted to get the lines of everything just right and was so pleased how it turned out, especially in the center of the orange. I was surprised at how much texture you can see using this Strathmore paper.

Hope you are doing all you can to stay well during this trying time.

Happy Creating,

Vicki

“Let’s Paint a South Haven, Michigan Beach Scene”

Hello Everyone,

Thinking of our Anniversary get away to South Haven, Michigan brings much joy. A block from our Bed and Breakfast was a beautiful small beach setting.

“6 Watercolor Techniques for Card Base Backgrounds – Part 1”

Hello Everyone, I love exploring new methods and getting messy with Watercolor paints once in awhile. Removing and using those paints left in my palettes for card bases is a great time to do that.

Plus the bonus of using up those paints is I have paper that looks so pretty when I make my cards. Then after I’m done, all my palettes are ready for me to paint all those designs I have in mind. Hope you too can have fun in your craft room or art studio along with me watching Part 1 of this two part video.

“Let’s Paint an Umbrella on the Beach”

Hello Everyone, Waking up to the beautiful snow early in the morning is one of my favorite things to see. The beauty of it on the trees, the sidewalks where no one has walked or shoveled yet, it’s so peaceful and beautiful that time of day. Thinking of this beach scene is also something I love to think about.

Umbrella on the Beach – original Watercolor

The sun on a warm day in the Summer, enjoying the scenes of Summer “Up North” Michigan –  my favorite place in the world. I love painting from my photos of our vacations. While keeping cozy and warm in the craft room I enjoyed painting this picture.

“Let’s Paint a Yellow Rose in Watercolor and Watercolor Pencils”

Hello Everyone, I love mixing paint colors together.

Artist palette, brushes and sketch

This yellow rose had deep darker colors of yellow, light colors of yellow, a little bit of orange, and a little bit of red – all those pretty warm colors. All these colors make me think of warmer weather in the Summer. I used a few of  my Inktense Watercolor pencils which are very vibrant colors. Hope you have fun watching this video as much as I had fun painting this rose.

Happy Creating,

Vicki
