Hello everyone, I’m Vicki Achard. Welcome to our website and to my world of nature, color, and design. My love of nature began when I was nine, during a month-long trip from Illinois to California. Traveling through many beautiful states throughout my life and enjoying the sights along the way has greatly influenced my appreciation of nature. Living in Michigan since 1990 has been a joy, allowing me to observe the beauty of nature—especially “Up North” Michigan.
I am a self-taught artist working in two mediums. I began my art journey as a pressed floral artist in August 1995. I have enjoyed gathering flowers from my garden and pressing them for my compositions, preserving a little piece of nature. Then, in October 2015, I added another medium: watercolor. I am inspired by God’s amazing palette as I observe nature and use my photographs to create realistic designs filled with rich, beautiful color. I also feel as though I’ve taken college-level art courses by learning from many talented artists on YouTube.
There is always something to learn and discover—my mind is always racing to create my next painting! I have learned to paint flowers, animals, food, landscapes, seascapes, and glass, all of which I find very enjoyable. I also love painting newborn portraits and creating Christmas cards.
Meet Tom
I’ve shared a little about myself—now I’d like you to meet Tom, my husband. Tom has been a tremendous support to me since I started Nature’s Best Art. Five years after I began pressing flowers, Tom started his own journey, learning how to mat and frame my designs. He has done absolutely beautiful work.
Tom has amazed me. After many years working as an engineer and with so many talents, he has been able to figure out anything we’ve ever wanted to accomplish. God has blessed him in so many ways.
He is not only our mat and framer, but also the printer of all my designs and the maker of all our products. Our latest product is our 5 x 7 greeting cards—I have to say, he has done an amazing job. I love them! I hope you will enjoy them as well and use them to send an encouraging message to a friend or loved one. I love receiving a greeting card in the mail—don’t you? I also enjoy knowing someone will smile when they receive a personalized message for a birthday, wedding, anniversary, sympathy, or get-well occasion. We also offer thank-you note cards in a set of 10, packaged in a nice pouch with envelopes.
My Thoughts About Nature’s Best Art and a Bit More About Us
There is always something I am working on. I have created a Bible study journal called “Loving God’s Word” and am continuing to refine it. I hope to have it available soon.
I’m excited—every day brings something new to discover and new ways to better connect with you. Amazingly, we can share with the world through technology—how wonderful is that?
I hope my work inspires you and brings you a little happiness. Bringing nature indoors through my pressed floral art prints, original watercolor paintings, 5 x 7 watercolor card prints, thank-you cards, Bible study journals (coming soon), and custom newborn portraits brings me great joy and serenity—and I hope it does the same for you and your loved ones.
We also enjoy spending time with our four adult children and their spouses. We are blessed with ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. We both love traveling and photography. Cooking meals together has been fun—we enjoy trying a variety of foods. We also enjoy our home and thank God for all we have.
