“Creating New Christmas Cards for 2022″

In a few days I will complete painting two new Christmas cards for 2022, I’m so very excited! I hope you can follow along my painting journey with me on my Artist Blog or my Business Facebook page – Facebook.com/NaturesBestArtist – please subscribe. I will reveal my newest Christmas cards in late Fall.

Can you guess what the entire design is of the one showing the ivy leaf and berries? How about the snowy pine trees – what do you think is in the entire design?

Creating to me is like playing in a sandbox when I was a child, or like playing school when I was a child, or coloring in my super large coloring books when I was a child. I love being inspired with the world around me and God’s wonderful nature and blessings.

Hope you are all having a warm and cozy winter if you live in the cold areas of the country and having peaceful days keeping healthy.

I will try to post every Tuesday.

Behind the Scenes Work in Progress/”Chicory in the Field”

Using a reference photo and making decisions about changes to a finished composition is a must at times. If I painted the entire scene it would have been way too much greenery and the chicory would have gotten lost in the painting. Also I decided painting this horizontally would be better than vertical. I like this particularly with a white mat and brushed silver metal frame.

Did you notice I got a new #2 round brush?! I’ve been wanting one since my other one really never had a nice point, which was always frustrating! I also got a #6 round, which was in the pack and never had that before and love it!

Happy Creating,

Vicki

“Night by the Stream, Rochester, MI”

Hello Everyone, Rochester Park in Michigan is one of my favorite places to visit. With it’s streams, trees, rocks, ducks, people walking on the paths, it’s so peaceful and always so inspiring.

I took my children there many times when they were growing up. They would play in the stream, walk all over the park and play on the playground equipment. For many years we participated in the Art & Apples Art show that drew so many art enthusiasts, it was so much fun to talk to others who love art, to get to know other Artists, and see beautiful work. A happy memory was when we took our daughter and her kids there and our grandson flew his kite we gave him on a windy day. It’s so fun to make happy memories. Hope you too have happy memories of beautiful places that are near you.

Happy Creating,

Vicki
