“Painting Revised”

I am happy with the revision of “Helleborus”, or as some know this flower as “Spring Rose”. I changed the background, lightened up the leaves and some of the flowers, and added more flowers to the table cloth. I have a few more paintings I did in my early days of painting I want to revise and will share those with you now and then. What do you think of the revision, (the painting below the first one)?

“My First Necklaces and Earrings!”

I loved working with both my paper scraps I call my decorative art collection and polymer clay; making beads, pendants and my first pair of earrings. My swirly paper beads are embossed to give them a pretty shine. I cut paper from my watercolor and pressed floral decorative art collection and wrapped them around a knitting needle first then glued them at the end. I have also learned so much about polymer clay. It’s so fun to think of all the design ideas I have for future necklaces and earrings!

“Peony Love”

Peony flowers are my son’s fiancée’s favorite flower and I wanted to create an original watercolor design which I knew I would use when printed for a tag for their soap favors at their wedding shower. Tom also printed thank you cards for them with the same design.

I love the color of this peony and I am so pleased at how this design turned out.

Two Beautiful Pressed Floral Art Wreaths

Offering an 8 x10 limited edition pressed floral art print called Bountiful Wreath – the last image left of an edition size of 20. 

$20.00 Matted or $55.00 framed in one of our quality frames in various woods, gold frames, or metal frames in silver, gold, or black. Tom has 23 years of experience framing and cutting mats and only uses the best quality techniques and materials for your picture.

Also offering an 8×10 Limited Edition beautiful pressed floral design called Love Wreath. This is also the last print of an edition size of 20. This one is not matted as yet. Below is an example of how you might want this matted and framed.
Another option is to have a neutral mat on top like Bountiful Wreath. For the inner mat I think green or maroon would be nice. This would be the same price as Bountiful Wreath. “Let’s Paint a Vase of Lilacs in Watercolor”

Hello Everyone, It’s a wonderful time of year to get inspired to paint those beautiful flowers, or whatever else you can see and enjoy around you. I’m so happy I captured these Lilacs in a photograph as they do not last very long on the bush.

Visiting the Stage Nature Center in Troy, Mi – enjoying the memories.

Hello Everyone,

Our recent trip to the Nature Center in Troy, Mi. held many memories. Three of our four children grew up spending many Saturday’s there learning about nature, attending kindergarten through fifth grade as Junior Naturalists. How wonderful to remember the many hours spent there and the wonderful people we met.

This past Saturday was a special day there, a fund raiser for the Nature Center. It drew a huge crowd.  Art was displayed for the fund raiser, there were activities for the children, and ice cream was enjoyed by many.

On our walk through the trails with our daughter and family we found what we thought was one of our son’s Eagle Project he completed years ago – a boardwalk for the trail. I was remembering and could picture all the excitement hauling the wood there and the many boys and parents who had helped him. As it turned out we were looking at the wrong boardwalk. My son and Tom looked up his old records and saw that wasn’t the one. Next hike there, we will go with our son so he can show us the location of the boardwalk.

On our walk there were many peaceful scenes of lush forest, rocks and water. We were happy to spot a deer. After a brisk walk we stopped to take a look at my Pressed Floral design, “Pink Lilies” displayed for the fund raiser.

Hope you also have time to enjoy the many beautiful sights of nature that is all around us.
