“Tidying Up The Craft Room”

All year I put my small strips of ribbon in this box, then I either save the ribbons to put on my cards and use on other projects or I make small bows out of them for cards, sentiments, or projects like making trinket boxes, etc. I had a container stored I was going to use for my bead making, but since I plan to do that next year, I am going to use the container for my bows, I can even put them by color.

I love using my basket full of ribbon, but after a whole year of using the ribbon, it really needs to be put in a nice order. After straightening out the ribbon, I can see the ribbon so much better and can easily see what I want to grab for many projects.

I love to also get all my scraps in order I use to make my “crafty” cards in order the beginning of January. This year I am going to organize this a little better, since I know I am going to dive into this bend making a lot of sentiments instead of cards. I have made many original Watercolor designs Tom prints for my cards that I can use instead and am excited I have decided to use my scraps for making sentiments going forward. This year I am still going to make some cards though since awhile ago I had put some of my scrap designs in this bend to make cards. I will be excited to show you probably sometime in February my completed cards, sentiments, and how I organized everything.

I also like to make Watercolor bookmarks made from all the paper scraps I had accumulated all year. The six papers you see in front I cut will turn into bookmarks like the six bookmarks standing in back.

Organization, I love to organize. It inspires me to use my materials and get creating! Do you also like to organize your craft room or Art Studio?

Happy Creating,

Vicki

“25 Tags Till Christmas” / 2020 – Week 5″

Our last week of the season making Christmas tags. This will give us 25! So happy I did this again this year, this is so fun for me and hope you have gotten some ideas for your tags if you make them. Gingerbread men are so fun as tags for your gift bags. I think my grandchildren will enjoy these. Christmas is less than two weeks away.

Happy Christmas and Happy Creating!

Vicki

“25 Tags Till Christmas / 2020 Week 4”

I love sparkly Christmas ornaments and this tag is definitely that. Christmas bags and gift wrap come in all colors and this silver/teal tag I will show you how to make would look so pretty with your silver, teal, or bags with snowflakes on them. Hope you are getting in the Christmas spirit to spread a little joy this Holiday.

“25 Tags Till Christmas / 2020 – Week 3”

Making these Christmas Tags is so much fun. It really puts me in the Christmas mood. I love Christmas and thinking about how this year we can still exchange gifts (social distance style) brings me so much joy. These tags will bring someone happiness to receive such a sweet tag.

I show you how to make little peppermint candies and tell you other ways to make this tag if you don’t have the same kind of materials I do.

Happy Creating,

Vicki

“25 Tags Till Christmas / 2020 – Week 2”

Hello Everyone,

I love the way you can get the look of gold without having to emboss, especially making more than one at a time, it saves a lot of time. I’m so happy to share how I got my design idea with you and also share where I store my gift tags. Where do you store your gift tags?

I look forward to next week when I can show you part 3 of our 5 part series of “25 Tags Till Christmas”.

Happy Creating and Happy Thanksgiving!

“25 Tags Till Christmas / 2020”

I love this time of year, preparing for Christmas. I learned long ago that I enjoy it when I prepare way in advance so that I won’t feel rushed. In this video I show you my first 5 gift tags I will put on my gifts, one we will make together. By the end of five weeks we will have made 25, just in time for your Christmas giving. Each set of 5 will be a different design. They also make nice Christmas gifts that someone could use next Christmas.

Happy Creating,

Vicki

10 Top Picks That Made Me Smile / 2020

Although it’s been a challenging year to say the least, I tried to creatively and purposely keep in touch with my family and stay occupied with projects. Sticking close to home brought many smiles. In this video I talk about how I coped with Covid and ten things I thought of that made me smile.

I hope you too have had some happy times and stayed busy with a project or two to keep you motivated to enjoy your day.

Stay well and safe.

Happy Thanksgiving!

“Painting a Ball Jar of Flowers in Watercolor / Floral Joy”

This is the second painting I have finished from the beautiful flowers my son Jonathan and his girlfriend Molly gave me for my birthday, September 13th. I had divided the flowers into containers and having fun creating the paintings. In this painting I made the hydrangeas a little bluer, and painted some a lovely lime green as they were. I added a few golden rod and changed the Ball jar at the last minute from the one that said wide mouth to one that said Mason.

I drew my design, painted the background, table, and jar, then started painting the stems and flowers. My new #2 and #6 round brushes were my “work horses” for this painting. It was a joy to paint with them.

“Roses in September”

Hello Everyone, I had so much fun celebrating my “milestone” birthday September 13th, and all that week actually and received so many beautiful flowers. I have begun to paint my first vase of flowers. These red roses were actually among a bunch of several other beautiful flowers I received from my son and his girlfriend. I split them up into four vases and having fun painting and creating. Milestone birthday you ask? Well I only feel about 40 years old! Hope to be around for a long time!!

I am using a rubber cement eraser to take off the masking fluid. The masking fluid helped save my highlighted areas after I applied paint in my vase. The highlighted areas will give the vase that look of glass.

Happy Creating,

Vicki

“Christmas in September / Making Small Bags”

Hello Everyone, One of my favorite things to make are gift bags. I love how it’s so easy to make bags out of recycled paper. I like to start in September as the time gets very busy around Christmas getting the decorations up, last minute preparations and yes this year we will still make the big dinner. Unfortunately this year due to the pandemic, all of us will not be able to gather together, but I will send a great dinner along with gifts to my children and families.

I hope you too stay hopeful and look forward to somehow celebrating this wonderful holiday. Thinking of you all and hope you are well.

Happy Creating,

Vicki
